About Us
Software engineering in service of global environmental preservation
Sphinx Fjord Labs Group was founded on a conviction: the climate crisis is a data problem as much as a policy one. Cities and enterprises cannot protect what they cannot measure — so we build the measurement layer for the planet's vital systems.

Our Story
From fjords to firmware
Sphinx Fjord Labs Group began with a simple observation: the cleanest places on Earth — the fjords, the highland watersheds, the polar air masses — were being monitored with the oldest tools. Meanwhile, the cities that most needed environmental intelligence were drowning in raw sensor data they could not act on.
We set out to close that gap with software. Our engineers built an ingestion layer precise enough to calibrate a neighborhood air sensor against a reference station, and scalable enough to serve live pollution maps to an entire metropolitan population. Then we pointed the same engine at water grids, urban canopies, and enterprise emissions — because the planet's systems are connected, and the software that watches them should be too.
Today our platforms run real-time air quality monitoring, smart water management, and green initiative analytics for municipalities, utilities, and enterprises across the globe — all operated from our base in London, England.
Ecological Values
What we stand for
Four commitments that shape every product decision, every hire, and every partnership.
Planet-First Engineering
Every architectural decision — from sensor protocols to cloud regions — is weighed against its environmental cost. We build software that is itself eco-friendly: lean, efficient, and low-carbon.
Radical Data Integrity
Environmental decisions deserve trustworthy numbers. We calibrate, validate, and archive every reading so that our clients can defend their figures to any regulator, auditor, or citizen.
Open by Default
Public environmental data belongs to the public. Our platforms ship with open APIs and public dashboards, because transparency accelerates collective action on climate.
Long-Horizon Thinking
Ecosystems recover on decadal timescales, so we build for them the same way: durable platforms, long data archives, and partnerships measured in years, not quarters.
Operational Philosophy
How we operate
Software as ecological infrastructure
We treat environmental platforms the way cities treat water mains: essential, resilient, and maintained around the clock. Downtime in air quality monitoring means blind spots in public health — so we engineer accordingly.
Partnership over product
Municipalities, utilities, and enterprises each face different pressures. We embed with client teams — from sensor siting workshops to council reporting cycles — rather than shipping software over the wall.
Impact we can prove
Liters conserved, pollutants detected early, canopy expanded: our success metrics are ecological outcomes, verified through the same rigorous data engine our clients rely on.
Engineering Team Expertise
The people behind the platform
Our team blends deep software engineering with environmental science — the rare combination that lets us calibrate a sensor in the morning and ship a forecasting model in the afternoon.
